Bio
Adela graduated valedictorian and summa cum laude from the Painting program at the University of Houston, and earned her Master of Fine Arts in New Media from the University of North Texas, Denton.
Adela’s work is represented by Anya Tish Gallery, Houston; Cris Worley Fine Art, Dallas; and Samuelis Baumgarte Galerie, Bielefield Germany. Her major works were exhibited in museum shows at The MAC Dallas; Grace Museum; Museum of South East Texas; and the Center for International Light Art, Unna, Germany.
Her work was curated in several major art fairs: Scope, Art Miami, Houston Art Fair, Dallas Art Fair, Texas Contemporary, and Art Palm Beach Fair.
Adela is teaching art studio classes at Lone Star College and Houston Community College. She has been a visiting artist, speaker, exhibitor and panelist at Texas Tech University; University of Texas, Odessa; the International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium in Boynton Beach, Florida; and Texas Biennale 2013.
She was invited by the organization Zebra 3 for a residency and exhibition at the Crystal Palace, Bordeaux, France, 2015/2016. The work produced during the residency was exhibited at the Cap Sciences, Bordeaux, France, from 2017-2018.
In 2021, Adela exhibited a large site-specific installation at the prestigious Center for International Light Art, Unna, Germany, for the 20 years Jubilee. In 2022, her work was included in the permanent collection of the museum.
Her work is in numerous private and public collections. Some of the public art installations include Texas Tech University, Houston First, Discovery Green, Caydon USA, Cyrus Logic, and the Hilton Americas Hotel.
