BETART consist of four art musketeer family members.
Eriko Tsogo: Eriko Tsogo is a Mongolian American artist, art management professional, immigrant rights activist and DACA recipient born in 1990 on the steppes of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Eriko grew up in Budapest, Hungary and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1999. Since 2006, Eriko has worked as the Creative Director at the Mongolian Culture and Heritage Center of Colorado. She is an alumni of Denver School of the Arts, having attained her B.F.A (2012) from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Tufts University. Eriko was one of twenty-five international Mongolian artists selected to be part of “Contemporary Mongolian Art Biennial: Innovating Tradition” at the The World Bank in Washington, DC. She was part of the "I Stand With Immigrants" initiative at the 2019 Miami Art Basel. Eriko is represented by Tappan in Los Angeles and lives bi coastally in the US.
Tsogo Mijid: Tsogtsaikhan “Tsogo” Mijid was born and raised in the heart of the luminous mountains of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Tsogo graduated with a BFA in traditional Mongolian arts from Mongolian University of Art and Culture (1984) and attained his MFA in Graphic Arts from Shevchenko Art Academy of Ukraine (1990). Tsogo has had numerous solo and select group exhibitions in Mongolia, Hungary, Germany, Russia and the United States. His artworks are owned by the 14th Dalai Lama, the Denver Art Museum, with permanent installations at The Denver Zoo and Meow Wolf Museum Denver. Tsogo is a cultural ambassador and the recipient of “Juuh'' Honorarium awarded to him by the Mongolian Ministry of Education Culture and Science.
Alongside his fine art practice, Tsogo remains one of the few affluent Mongolian artists in the world to follow in the ancient art of the Mongolian Tsam Mask making tradition. A significant part of Tsogo’s art career involves his role as an accomplished Buddhist Thangka painter (scroll painter). In 2009, Tsogo became the first Mongolian artist in the world to design a public sculpture in the United States entitled “Tulga” located at Ulaanbaatar Park in Denver. Tsogo has been a member of Pirate Contemporary Art Gallery in Denver, Colorado from 1999-2019. He remains a versatile artist whose different art practices continue to reflect his migratory experiences.
Batkhishig Batochir: Born in 1969 in Ulaanbaatar/Mongolia, Baja Batochir has a BA in Theatre Arts from the national Kiev Art University (1986). Baja is a professionally trained actor, slam poet, stage coach and yoga instructor, having acted in numerous Mongolian black and white avant-garde experimental films in the late 1980's. Baja immigrated to Denver, Colorado, USA with her family in 1999. Since arriving in America, Baja's life has been dedicated to the advancement of Mongolian culture and arts in the world. She is the founding member of the Mongolian Culture and Heritage Center of Colorado, Dharma Wheel Colorado Mongolian Buddhist School, "Bombog" Nomadic Children's Puppet Theatre, Tulga Poetry Club, "Uran Biir" Colorado Mongolian Art School and Nomad Yoga Sunshine.
Jennifer Tsogo: Born in 1999 in Denver/Colorado, Jennifer Tsogo is a Denver School of the Arts Visual Arts major alumni, currently in pursuit of her BFA degree at University of Denver. Jennifer is a national recipient of Young Arts
and Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. She teaches at the Uran Biir Colorado Mongolian Art School in Denver. Jennifer owns a multidisciplinary brand collective with her sister Eriko, having created her first apparel collection store.
