Sound Bites

Located in Front of House

Sound Bites captures a visual interpretation of sound in motion across space, time, and consciousness through the cycle of life. Mathieu’s goal was to capture sound in flight through vegetation on fertile grounds through the starry terrain. Sound Bites explores creation, sustainability, and life through collective mobilizing under one sun, using bees to symbolize one accord, working “in the direction of sunbeams” as beautifully written by poet Henry David Thoreau. Mathieu played with elements of color and sound in this mural as he traveled into the stardust's intergalactic unknown where breathing is silent, and the breath of life has yet to be found as the vibrations of the “Bhramari Pranayama” vibrates into the white and black matter soundwaves seeking peace in a conundrum.
