Sea Blight illustrates the prevailing force of nature with the depiction of an organic creature overtaking a metal buoy. This growth, whose form is inspired by bacteria and fungi, has torn the scutoid buoy in two and repurposed the top half as a substrate for embedding its spores. In a nod to the role of a
buoy, this scene reveals the threat that the scutoid buoy may have been warning against.
