The Real Unreal
All we are exists in the waves and gradients between light and the absence of light
Located in Glowquarium
This mural serves as a passage between Glowquarium, the room “Macrodose” by artist Dan Lam, and Optic Drift. This mural is inspired by the prompts of a gradient palette, trees, growth, passages, and the accidental wavy scraped marks left by an anonymous worker that turned into a nod towards the blobby drips of paint that some might consider mistakes. On the opposite wall are waves inspired by the photographs my late mother took of light reflecting off the water of the puget sound. Its a meditation on the dance of light and dark, pain and suffering, joy and pleasure, growth and decay, impermanence, the growth through painful experience, everything that we experience constantly changing meditating on and appreciating all of it.
