Every day and night, beloved local radio station ETNL transmits love, affection, and Texan weirdness out to the Lone Star State and beyond -- a fact as true now as it has been since the station’s beginnings.
In the 70’s, a particularly wild party made its way through the many rooms of Little Thicket’s radio station, with the stairway the center of the action. Over the days and nights of a loud, fun, and hazy weekend, the stairway was transformed into a new vision: a visual love letter celebrating the station’s reach to listeners near and far.
Designs were made and remade; drawings sketched all over the walls; ladders climbed on and fallen off of; and paint spilled and spattered and even put on the wall! At the end, the crew (covered in paint), took stock of their new artistic creation. It was a mural they could all pass on with pride and a smile.
From the first day’s chaotic start, the result was a simple silhouette of the tower and a joyous wave - the tower looming high above the land, and the wave looming even higher, celebrating the station as it reaches out to friends and strangers in unexpected places to this day.
