"Our room is meant to be a celebration of the community of Houston and the artists working on the project. We created four shallow bas-relief sculpted animals chosen to represent each team member, with the hope and intention that the guest will engage with the walls through touch." - Chris Hilson.
"Manta Ray Animal sculpture symbolizes Edilia Bautista and her siblings, each of her siblings is represented by an animal within the main sculpture. A hummingbird, a dolphin, an eagle, a horse and an otter. “I am grateful to be able to share in a particular way part of my family with all of you, making a tribute to my sisters that are still with us in this dimension and the ones that said an early goodbye.” - Edilia Bautista.
