Taking inspiration from Dona Bailey’s classic arcade game Centipede, one o(f the first arcade games made by and with women players in mind) Silverfish uses retro graphics and bright pastel colors to present a game about an ancient, familiar, surprising and omnipresent insect. Silverfish invites guests to imagine themselves as space travelers, present at the creation of universes, chewing through the fabric of spacetime to connect disparate galaxies. By giving this much-reviled insect perhaps the most important job in the universe, we’re asked to show some reverence and curiosity towards a species that was here long before us and will be here long after us.
